Yesterday we received fantastic news. Our State member for Eastern Victoria, Tom McIntosh came to visit and announced $300,000 in yesterday’s budget to build a multi purpose facility on the old netball courts at the back of the reserve. Cricket nets/ 5 a side soccer pitch.
A lot of hard work has gone in over many years to make this become a reality. It was originally driven by the Korumburra Cricket club, to revamp their nets, but we have worked together with them over the last few years to ensure the Soccer Club gets some benefit.
Five a side comps are very popular, and this will give us an opportunity to train off the pitch on occasions when it needs a rest.
The club will contribute $20,000 to the project.
It’s a significant slice of our pie. But we think the benefits will be worth it for the club to grow.
